Created by our very own Lynol Lui, in-house artist, designer, and runner - this members-only PUMA collaboration is more than a tee, its a piece of Lynol's journey. Inspired by the balance between creativity and movement, it's built for running yet designed to feel like art in motion and remind you: You're Fast Enough.
A Conversation With Lynol Lui
Lynol Lui is not a name you see on billboards. He's not the type who needs to be. His work does the talking.
Who inspired me early on and helped shape my artistic style? With photography I have to give shout-outs to the two photographers I assisted, Dimitris Theocharis and Timur Celikdag. Assisting Carson (Chairman Ting) for illustration taught me a lot, both in style and production, and in managing workflow. I really enjoy the French artist Ugo Bienvenu. Please have a look at his work.

A runner who did not grow up running.
My running didn't start until I moved to Vancouver. It happened because I started noticing my roommate at the time kept on disappearing. I found out she was going on runs and thought it'd be something nice to pick up. Like cycling, it's a great way to explore your neighbourhood and city. You experience it differently. It's also a great time to just be on your own and have time to think, or not think if you want.
I don't run with music or my phone. When I'm out running, I am out running. No one can reach me or get in contact with me. Sometimes I'll have inspiration or ideas, but honestly, most of the time when I'm running I'm thinking about my body, pace, and breathing. If you're distracted with nonsense at that moment, you won't be able to perform physically to the workout you have planned.

Fast Enough Club across the back of my project with PUMA is not just a statement, it is how Lynol moves. Never chasing clout. Just a pace that feels true. Fittingly, it is what makes our first members only tee with PUMA hit differently. The story of an artist who runs, a runner who creates, and a community that moves the same way.
A designer who sees more than what is in front of him.
A runner, a run specialist, designer, artist and photographer. It sounds like I have quite a few titles floating around me (laughs). I think the simplest way to answer "what I do" is that my passion lies in both the creative industry and in running.
I find gratification in both, but the process is separate, and I think that's important and also what gives me balance. One is more physical and the other is more mental for sure. Both are emotional, but when you really want to just rage out, the physicality from running gives me that.
Being able to do both in parallel, inside and outside of work, is just the bonus. I think it's rare for someone to be able to work where their passions lie, let alone have two of them line up. So I feel fortunate to be able to, and wherever this path leads and however the ride goes, I'm down with it.
