Join us for a one of a kind running event. No routes, no leaders, and no limits.
No routes, no leaders, and no limits. Choose your own adventure as you navigate the streets of Vancouver searching for the secret checkpoint(s) before returning to RunAsYouAre to celebrate amongst friends with great food, drinks, DJ, and prizes (but possibly not for what you’re used to).
Saturday, September 28
5:45pm - 6:15pm Check-in
6:25pm We go!
Description:
Along with our friends at On we’ve created an event that caters to all abilities and just might be the most fun you’ve had in a pair of running shoes. We’re not going to tell you everything but we won’t leave you totally in the dark.. “It’s Not a Race” is exactly what we say it is - not a race - but that doesn’t mean that you can’t run it fast, or walk, or skip…up to you. There will be no planned routes and no leaders at the front of the pack. You choose every detail…so long as you reach the checkpoint.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Register to secure your spot - spaces are limited to 120!
DAY OF EVENT
- Check in at RunAsYouAre (2033 W4th Ave) on September from 5:45pm - 6:15pm and select what distance you prefer: Short (~5km), Medium (~7km), or Long (~9km).
- Find out your distance's checkpoint(s) and plan your route (or wing it! It's up to you!).
- Instructions will be given, and we will all start running at the same time.
- Stop into your checkpoint(s) to get your validation - without it, you have not completed your distance.
- Get back to the shop at your own pace for a post-run celebration, social, and prizes.
Want to take on the challenge in some fresh On running shoes? On will be onsite with demos of their most popular shoes - just be sure to arrive early to secure your size.
It’s Not A Race is what you make it. Work with friends and other runners to decide which path might be fastest and which might be the most creative, or maybe you just keep it all quiet and source out the quickest way from one destination to the other. Return to RunAsYouAre with burning in your legs and a smile on your face. The best part of the night will be waiting for you when you get back.
We’ll have food. We’ll have drinks. We’ve got swag. We’ll have more prizes to give away than you can imagine. We’ve even got a DJ to keep that energy up post-run. We get the pleasure of running together all the time - now let’s enjoy this chance to party together as well. The food and drinks will be served until 8:30pm so that everyone will have time to run, eat, drink, and kick it with us. You’ve made it this far - what are you waiting for? Register now, tell a friend, and move quickly because we’ll sell out in no time; and trust me, you don’t want to miss it.
